JD Cox

John Douglas Cox has played professionally for over 40 years as a working musician in Texas and New Mexico. He plays several instruments including lead guitar, pedal steel guitar, bass, mandolin, harmonica, and all kinds of percussion. He has opened for many big name U.S. country artists including Marty Stewart, Tim McGraw, Restless Heart, Asleep at the Wheel, and Joe Ely, and even George Thoroughgood. He is also a record producer with dozens of albums to his credit, a four time nominee for The New Mexico Music Awards. and winner for “Best Country Song” in the 2023 New Mexico Music Awards. He enjoys original music, country, classic rock, blues, R & B, the Afro-Latin rhythms from West Africa after living there for three years, and more recently working winters in Hawaii and summers in Alaska. He plays as a solo act and also fronts the Lincoln County Line Band in Ruidoso and The Limited Edition Band in Roswell.

In addition to his original music, his solo acoustic shows include mostly medium to high energy songs from all genres- including current and classic rock, current and classic country, and just about everything in between.
