Family After Hours: Celebrate Our State!

New Mexico will be celebrated Thursday, May 9, at the first Family After Hours at the Roswell Museum and Art Center. In partnership with the Roswell Independent School District’s Arts Connect Program, this free event from 5 to 8 p.m. focuses on encouraging parents to partner with their children in the arts, while building memorable, shared experiences. The museum’s galleries will be filled with free hands-on art activities presented by RISD Arts Connect teachers, as well as gallery talks, a scavenger hunt and refreshments that celebrate the cultural richness of New Mexico. Some activities include enchanted weaving, paper sculptures and creating your own Southwest landscape. This event is generously sponsored in part by the RMAC Foundation. This is a drop-in event, families may join activities anytime during the evening. The museum is located at 1011 N. Richardson Ave., just north of the Roswell Convention Center.
