Arbor Day Seedling Giveaway 2024

Join us for our free seedling giveaway and let’s beautify Roswell by planting more trees this April!

Date: Saturday April 13, 2024
Time: 9:00 am to 11:00 am (or until seedlings are gone)
Location: Spring River Zoo 1306 E. College Blvd. Roswell, NM

Community residents are welcome to stop by to pick up their “Arbor Day Giveaway Bag” which will consist of a reusable KRB shopping tote, a bag of seedlings, a reusable “Toss No Mas” car trash container, and a box of energy efficient LED lightbulbs – while supplies last.

Note: limit one bag per adult and the number of seedlings per bag may vary depending on the quantity of trees we are able to acquire.

Types of trees ordered so far for the 2024 Arbor Day giveaway are:
* Afghanistan Pine
* Arizona Sycamores
* Bur Oak
* Hackberry
* Lilac
* New Mexico Locust
* Pinon
* Rocky Mountain Juniper

We also are working on an order for an assortment of small trees in containers and will post a list as soon as we have confirmation that this will be possible.

Thanks to the City of Roswell Parks department for their help in arranging the KRB purchase of the seedlings. Special thanks to the New Mexico Tourism Department “Clean and Beautiful Grant” for funding the reusable shopping totes and seedling purchase, the New Mexico Department of Transportation Dept 2 for providing the reusable “Toss No Mas” car trash containers, and to Xcel Energy for are providing LED Lightbulbs.
