The American Legion Post #28 is partnering with local veterans groups for the second year in a row to present the Veterans Day Parade on Saturday, November 9th at 09:00 a.m. in downtown Roswell. The community is encouraged to attend the parade to celebrate the men and women who have served in our U.S. military.
Veterans Day officially became a national holiday in 1938. It’s a day to show respect and gratitude to those who were willing to serve our country. We stand behind our local veterans and we honor them for their service and commitment. We encourage our community to join these brave men and women for the 2019 Veterans Day Parade to show them our support and appreciation for their service. The parade will be followed by a ceremony in front of the Chaves County Veterans Memorial & Courthouse Lawn at 10:00 a.m. immediately following the parade.
The American Legion Post #28 is calling on local groups affiliated with military service members to participate in the parade. Other community organizations that wish to participate are also encouraged to enter. A $5.00 fee will charged for every entry with proceeds going to Veterans Fund. The entry deadline is October 11, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. Parade entry information is available for download @ www.nmlegionpost28.org or pickup at the Roswell Adult Center at 807 N Missouri.
