February Sunday Funday

The February Sunday Funday sponsored by the HSSNM will be held on Sunday, February 10th, 2pm to 3pm at the Archives Facility 208 N. Lea Ave. featuring a presentation by Dale Ek on the POW camp of Roswell.Mr. Ek attended Dexter Public Schools and graduated in 1957. After serving three years in the US marine corps, Mr. Ek attended Texas Christian University where he received a degree in Business Administration in 1963. He then attend law school at the University of Texas and received his Juris Doctorate in 1966. After graduation, Mr. Ek accepted a position with the Modral Sperling Law Firm in Albuquerque, where he practiced law until his retirement in 2014.
From 1949 – 1957, Mr. Ek lived at Orchard Park. Orchard Park was an apartment housing complex for airmen and civil personnel assigned to Walker AFB. The complex consisted of the administration and hospital buildings of the POW Camp having been converted to apartments, thus Mr. Ek’s interest in the POW Camp and Military History.
Mark you calendars and we will see you on Feb.10,2019. Refreshments will be provided and the GHS Stargazers will be singing Valentine’s tunes from 1:30pm to 2pm prior to event.
