Exploring Holograms with Artist Eric Leiser

Experience the art and science of holograms with a special, one-time presentation on the Planetarium dome by award-winning Holographic Artist and Animator Eric Leiser representing the formation of our galaxy. A series of Leiser’s hologram sculptures will also be on display.
Leiser is an award-winning multi-media artist working in New York and California. A graduate from CalArts Experimental Animation program, he creates animated and live action feature films and shorts as well as works integrating animation, holography, puppetry, painting, live performance and installation. His work has been displayed and/or screened nationally and internationally at venues including Victoria and Albert Museum, The Istanbul Modern Museum of Art, MoMA, New Museum, The MIT Museum, The Ruben H. Fleet Space Museum, Thessaloniki Contemporary Art Museum, Centro Cultural Ricardo Rojas Museum de Buenos Aires, MASS MoCA, British Film Institute, San Francisco Film Society, Goldsmiths College London, California Institute of the Arts and the School of the Art Institute in Chicago among others. Eric is an alumni of CalArt’s Experimental Animation program.
