Panel Discussion: The Impact of De Jure Segregated Schooling in Southern New Mexico.
Join RMAC and The African American Museum and Cultural Center of New Mexico for a panel discussion on the topic of school segregation, its effects on social interactions with other ethnic groups in the community, and how segregated schools interacted with other school communities. This is the conclusion of a two-part segment on the journey of African Americans in New Mexico presented in conjunction with the traveling exhibition The Virtue of Ownership: African American Homesteading in Southern New Mexico.
RMAC is honored to host the panel discussions and exhibition as we work in partnership to continue conversations about the contributions made by African Americans in this part of the state. School groups welcome. Light refreshments will be provided.
