MainStreet Roswell Announces First Friday Down Town Market December 7 2018 “Merry & Bright DownTown!” With Roswell’s beautiful holiday decorations, strolling downtown is truly festive, but things are getting even brighter with the First Friday theme this month. It’s “Merry and Bright Downtown” and many of the merchants there will be giving away free luminaria supplies! Businesses participating in the luminaria give-a-way will offer 1 free luminaria size bag and 1 free votive candle (while supplies last). Shoppers can collect a set in each of the participating businesses and have enough to light sidewalks or driveways with luminarias, making it merry and bright at their own homes, too! MainStreet Roswell volunteers will be at Reischman Park (308 N. Main Street) 5:00 – 8:00 pm with instruction sheets, as well as free sand to complete the needed supplies for making the luminarias. Downtown guests can also enjoy live holiday music there with artists, David Marshall, Marie Manning, and DJ Hendawg. Kik’s Thai food truck will be there for those who want to enjoy a meal under the stars while listening to the beautiful music! Barringer’s Blossom Shop is hosting free kids holiday cookie decorating, hot cocoa bar, snacks and a meet ‘n’ greet with the big man himself – yes, SANTA will be there for selfies with the kids (young and old alike)! The Gallery/MainStreet Arts will be offering a free kid’s painting project (supplies are all provided!). Kids will be instructed in painting a frame-able artwork they can keep. Shoppers can have their holiday gifts wrapped here, free, while the kids are doing their painting project. Tascosa is hosting a youth group who will provide holiday gift wrapping and hot cocoa for a donation to support their football tournament fundraiser. The Humane Society will also be there this Friday, so stop by to see which fuzzy friends are there! Shoppers can also enjoy holiday music and cookies at Imagine That! Santa will be there too for those needing professional photos with the big guy (he is magic and CAN be two places at once). Bring the gifts you need wrapped – there are SEVERAL places offering gift wrapping for free or for a donation to the youth group there. The evening will be crisp, the holiday lights bright, the music festive, the activities will be fun, and the savings will be wonderful – especially for holiday gift giving! Take a mini-vacation (a STAY-cation) in our very own downtown Roswell! For more information call 575-914-8018. http://www.mainstreetroswell.org
